Takei Swings Into The Australian Jungle

It seems that George Takei is out to prove something and is making way to bring the philosophy of IDYC to the Australian Jungle.
Yes as we brits all know, it’s that time of year again where celebrity’s unwittingly sign up for the UKs most outrageous and most humiliating reality game show and collectively get their butts kicked.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is back, and normally hearing such news would make most science fiction fans yawn. This time is different however, because for once we have someone to get behind. Beaming in from his comfortable life in the USA will be actor George Takei, which has me wondering if he knows what he’s gotten himself into.
For the last few years the ITV1 show hosted by popular UK act Ant and Dec has systematically humiliated many a hardy celebrity over the years, and even aided the creation of a celebrity marriage. Perhaps the most humiliating task in this jungle game show is the dreaded Bush Tucker Trials where celebrity’s have to endure some of the most hideous challenges in order to win food and provisions for the rest. These trials can be anything from being placed into a confined space with nasty creepy crawlies to actually having to eat those same creepy crawlies. Either way George seems to feel he is up for the challenge, if what he told the News Of The World newspaper is anything to go by.
“I am a physically fit person. I work out every day. I used to run marathons! I like challenges. I am willing to boldly go. I think it is going to be good fun.”
What UK audiences would like to know is if Mister Takei is capable of eating and digesting grubs, insects, worms, slugs and any number of other nasty things that crawl around.
All contestants competing in this series are doing so to raise money for their chosen charity. Which only goes to show you, that some folks will do just about anything for charity.
For those living in the UK. I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here will premier on Sunday 16, November and will air at 9pm.
