Aronofsky’s ‘RoboCop’ Reboot Axed

Awhile back it was widely reported that director Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler) was to do a remake of the cult 1987 movie RoboCop.

The project has now been axed, at least according to new reports from moviehole.

Apparently an insider told the site that “[RoboCop is] gone. Kaput. Cancelled. It was one of the first casualties. [Aronofsky] has lost interest anyway, I believe. [I] think we’re all just going to have to be happy with the three RoboCop movies that are out there.”

The movie, which was being made with MGM studios, joins the much anticipated 23rd Bond movie as the latest casualty of the studios continuing debt problems.
