It seems that since David Tennant announced that he would be handing back the keys to the Tardis in 2010, one he has done the four TV Specials that speculation about the eleventh Doctor has been on the rise.
However according to kasterborous.com the search is over. The site claims on good authority that Patterson Joseph is to be the eleventh Doctor Who, and adds that an official announcement will follow soon.
Of course fans of Doctor Who and British genre television will already be familiar with Joseph because of his role as Roses fellow contestant Rodrick on The Weakest Link segment of the two part season one finale Bad Wolf and Parting of the ways.
Since then Joseph has enjoyed roles in Steven Moffat’s modern version of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde, which was tiled Jekyll. The actor can presently be seen in a leading role in BBC 1s remake of Survivors.
This however isn’t new news (see story). A couple of weeks ago shortly before Tennant announced that he would be leaving. SciFi Wire reported that they’d written both Patterson Joseph and his agent to ask if the rumour about him being the eleventh Doctor was true. Both Joseph’s agent and the actor at that time denied that they had even been approach by the BBC in regards to Doctor Who, and Joseph added that he was flattered by the rumour.
If this is true it would make Joseph the first black actor to play the time lord. More importantly it would demonstrate that the doctor is able to regenerate his skin colour, which would be a real first for the series.
In regards to sources kasterborous.com cannot divulge where they’re getting the information from, but do point out the below UTube item, which concerns Survivors.
