One movie, which defined the modern science fiction movie before Star Wars hit cinema’s was the movie adaptation of Logan’s Run, which would spawn a Television series and a brief run with Marvel Comics, as well as a strip in the UK Junior, TV Times Magazine Look – In.
In recent years news of a second movie has come and gone, but fans of the dystopia based story where people commit suicide under the false promise of renewal still holds enough relevance for a new comic book adaptation.
According to Newsarama Washington based comic book company Bluewater are set to unleash a retelling of the book Logan’s Run as well as a Logan’s Run spin off titled Logan’s Run: Last Day.
The site reports that William F. Nolan who wrote the Novel Logan’s Run, which started it all is working with Bluewater on the comic.
“I’m excited to be partnered with Bluewater on this latest trek with Logan,” said William Nolan “It has the potential to be a successful new chapter in the Logan saga. Logan lives!”
“Having been a lifelong fan of Logan’s Run, it’s a dream come true to not only be asked to re-launch and re-imagine the trilogy of classic books as Graphic Novels, but to collaborate with William F. Nolan himself.” Said writer Paul J. Salamoff.
Logan’s Run: Lastday is scheduled for a 2009 release. Seven For Space which features Nolan’s futuristic private eye, Sam Space and the new untitled series are scheduled for 2010.
