Marc Singer as Mike Donavon In The Original 'V' Mini Series
In a recent chat to SciFi Wire original V Mini series star Marc Singer revealed that he’d love to be involved in the Re-imagination, and explained why he feels the time is right to revamp the 1983 mini series for a newer audience.
When asked his thoughts about remakes the actor said that a good story can always be retold, and feels that the premise of the original series is still as relevant today as it was then.
“The same forces of subversion and the same sort of fascist tendencies are afoot, and I think it’s a cautionary tale that bears retelling.”
When asked if knowing the ending would effect the shows success with viewers who saw the original. The actor said knowing how the original ends doesn’t really matter so much. As long as the premise of the series remains intact.
“I think it’s more in the telling of the tale of society being subverted. And society being wooed into channels that are disruptive and dumbed down. I believe that those are the ways in which the story’s retelling sort of supersedes that plot line, because it’s the human interaction.”
When asked if he’s do a cameo in the new series if a role was offered the actor said he’d love to, and would even be open to playing a recurring role if one was offered.
