Sanctuary For Kids Raises $42,000 In Just One Month

During an interview on SFP Radio earlier this month. Amanda Tapping revealed that the cast and crew of Sanctuary would launch a new charity, which is called Sanctuary For Kids, and launch it has.
Late last night SciFiPulse along with a few other websites received the following press release informing us that thanks to your support the charity has made an impressive $42,000, which will help out the charities that the organization is supporting immensely. Vancouver, BC – The recently launched not-for-profit organization Sanctuary for Kids is pleased to announce impressive results from its first charity auction and fundraising efforts which have raised over $42,000 in its first month. Founded by Actor and Executive Producer Amanda Tapping, along with Co-Directors Jill Bodie and Damian Kindler, Sanctuary for Kids (S4K) also received added support from the AT4 Convention attended recently by Tapping in the UK. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Sanctuary for Kids supporting international and local charities for children in crisis. Amanda Tapping Returning To SG Universe

Amanda Tapping who is fast becoming as well known as Doctor Helen Magnus. Than she is for her role of Carter in the popular Stargate SG1 series is set to make her second guest appearance on the new Stargate Universe series, which airs every Friday on Syfy Channel, and on Tuesdays here in the UK on Sky One.

Tap Into SFP Radio Featuring Amanda Tapping

During the course of this 25 minute interview Amanda talks about the challenges of both producing and starring in a show, and gives some subtle hints about how she feels her character of Doctor Helen Magnus will develop over the course of the second season.
Tapping will also give some clues on up and coming guest stars for the series, and talks about some of the people she’d like to have come on the show.
