James Marsters Cast in Caprica
Written by Robin Brownfield on August 19, 2009 – 12:14 am -
If being a prequel to Battlestar Galactica isn’t enough to draw you to Caprica, how about this? According to a report from Michael Ausiello, James Marsters, best known as Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, has been cast in a recurring role in the upcoming SyFy series.
Marsters will be in good company on the show. He and executive producer Jane Espenson have worked together on both Whedonverse series, with Espenson writing or co-writing many of the best Spike-centric episodes.
Marsters will be joining Caprica for a sizable arc, a minimum of three episodes, as a dangerous terrorist leader named Barnabus Greeley. Driven by desires both moralistic and carnal, Barnabus is what Marster plays best – as lethal as he is unpredictable.
Caprica is set to make its SyFy debut on Jan. 22.
