Comix Portal: Whither Comics?

Every once in a while, someone comes along and announces they are going to “save the comics industry.” They usually start up a company that does well for a while. But comics are an expensive proposition, and eventually even the wealthiest of investors cuts his or her losses, then disappears.
Also, occasionally the word is that comics are all going digital. One comic I can think of in particular is only available online. And some of the older comics have been available on PDF for a while now. Will we make our weekly trek to the local comics shop to pick up a disc of the comics we want on it? Or will we download them from an FTP site and save ourselves the trip? Read more »

Comics Community Raising Money For Haiti
Written by Ian Cullen on January 20, 2010 – 10:00 am -The world was literally shaken to its core recently when a massive Earth Quake altered and took the lives of a great many people in Haiti.
And this world event hasn’t been lost on fans in both the SciFi and Comic Book community. While doing Sundays SciFiPulse Radio. I learned that Amanda Tapping and Damian Kindlers new charity organization Sanctuary For Kids has launched a campaign to raise money in order to help the people of Haiti out in both the recovery and rebuild efforts.
And as you’d expect the comic book community has also launched a campaign to help the victims of Haiti.
This latest campaign has been launched by Two Comics professionals who have named it the Heroes 4 Haiti appeal. Which aims to raise money via online charity auctions… Read more »

Red Sonja To Take On The Norse Gods
