David Tennant swaps his Tardis for a London Bus

For the last 5 years Doctor Who has scooped up a ton of awards, and has once again proved its worth at the UK National Television Awards.

The BBC reports
that Doctor Who scooped the best drama award for a fifth year running. The series, which was produced by Russell T. Davies and starred David Tennant beat out stiff competition from popular uk shows such as: The Bill, Casualty and Shameless.

Doctor Who Regenerates To 10.4 Million, UK Viewers

Doctor Who has been somewhat of a ratings winner for the BBC since it returned to television in 2005, and that trend continued on New Years Day when 10.4 Million viewers tuned on for David Tennants final bow as the 10th incarnation of the Doctor.

The End Of Time part two, which was the first ever Doctor Who episode, much less special, to air on New Years Day won its time-slot and easily sawed off competition from the UK’s oldest soap opera Coronation Street, which only managed 8.6 Million Viewers according to the BBC News website.
