Young Justice League Cartoon In The Works?

The rumour mill is working on superpowers of late. The latest rumour being that Warner Bros and DC Comics have plans to do a new animated series based on the adventures of a the Young Justice League.

Mania has reported that Stephanie Lemelin will be taking on the role of Arrowette in the cartoon. A fact that the actress first reported via her website. However, since then the report has been removed.

“I am beyond thrilled to announce that I was recently cast in the new animated series Young Justice League based on the famous DC Comics,” said Lemelin. “I seriously could not be more excited about being welcomed into this amazing family.

Comix Portal: No Bad Characters …

Only bad writers.  Or at least, writers who don’t know what to do with the characters.

How many times have we seen comics characters go down in flames, even die, only to see them rise up again “because you demanded it?”

My favorite examples of this come from the DC Comics universe—Green Lantern, The Flash, and the Justice Society of America. (We’ll ignore Superman and Batman for the moment.)

It was about 20 or so years ago that the good folks at DC decided that nobody could write The Flash.  After all, he’s so incredibly fast that he could solve any problem as soon as it happened.  It was impossible to challenge him.  Or so we were told.

Straczynski To Experiment On ‘Brave And Bold’

J. Michael Straczynski, best known for Babylon 5, Changeling and his Thor and Amazing Spider-Man comics for Marvel, wants to make The Brave And The Bold one of DC Comics’ best-selling titles, according to a report on Digital Spy.

The author told the CBR website that he wants to “build up the credibility of the book as something other than an oddity” and “start upping the ante, taking some real chances with the storytelling, getting more experimental.”

Noting that he has been in “secret” talks with DCU executive editor Dan DiDio about the future of the book, Straczynski said that he will change the format from single-issue storylines to a two-issue event that will look at the same happenings from two different points of view.
