No Daleks In Next Series Of Doctor Who!

If you’re one of the few Doctor Who fans like myself, who are a little tired of the Daleks popping up in pretty much every series. You’ll be pleased to know that the next season, which will premier in spring of next year. Will not include the Daleks.
Speaking at last weekends Edinburgh TV Festival, the Doctor Who producer revealed that there were no plans to use the Daleks in the pending season, although work on the 2011 series is not yet complete.

Sylvester McCoy In Talks To Star In ‘Hobbit’

Sylvester McCoy, who played the Seventh Doctor in Doctor Who, has reportedly opened talks to appear in The Hobbit, he told the Argyllshire Standard, according to theonering.net.
“I am being cast in The Hobbit. We’re currently in negotiations,” he said. “There are two of us under consideration. It’s not the Bilbo role, but could be bigger.”
So which role is McCoy up for? “He is in contention with another actor for one of two Wizard parts,” the site reports. “We know Ian McKellen will like to return as Gandalf, and we’ve heard some rumblings of Radagast the Brown having a bigger role, so if you put two and two together — is Sylvester McCoy up for Radagast the Brown?” Stay tuned!

New ‘Doctor Who’ Series To Be Split In Half – Matt Smith Staying Until 2013?
Written by Ian Cullen on August 30, 2010 – 10:15 am -It seems that what we all thought would have happened this year to make way for the World Cup will indeed be happening for the 2011 season of Doctor Who.
In a recent interview at the Edinburgh TV Festival, which took place over weekend, Steven Moffat revealed that the sixth season will start in the Spring take a break, and return in the autumn.
A statement from the BBC explained: “The split transmission is the result of a request from Steven Moffat to write a new Doctor Who story arc which involves a big plot twist in the middle of the series. By splitting the series Moffat plans to give viewers one of the most exciting Doctor Who cliffhangers and plot twists ever, leaving them waiting, on the edge of their seats, until the autumn to find out what happens.”
