Whedon Almost Quit Television

Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse creator Joss Whedon revealed in a recent interview that he damn near quit working for television after the cancellation of Firefly and Dollhouse.
Speaking in an interview for The Sydney Morning Herald, he revealed that the double-axing of Firefly and Dollhouse was a major blow to his confidence.

Is Whedon Developing A New Show For FX?
Written by Ian Cullen on January 18, 2010 – 10:06 am -An interesting snippet of information has come up from the Futon Critic, which hits at a possible deal between Joss Whedon and The FX Cable channel for a new series.
According to the website FX president John Landgraf, spoke with reporters on Sunday and reveled he’d be having lunch with the creator of Dollhouse and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Fox Cancels Dollhouse

It’s a sad, but not surprising, day for Joss Whedon fans everywhere. Fox, the network that tore our hearts out by crushing Firefly, has canceled Dollhouse.
“Yes. Canceled. Sad but true,” tweeted Maurissa Tancharoen, Dollhouse writer, who is also married to Whedon’s brother, writer Jed Whedon.
The sci-fi series, which seemed to defy the odds when it was picked up for a second season despite low ratings (and yet marked increase in viewership when counting DVR and other viewing sources), is expected to finish it’s 13-episode run with an ending that will satisfy viewers.
