Eisner Updates On Flash Gordon Movie

Director Breck Eisner seems to have his hands in several genre pots of late, but perhaps the biggest pot is his update on Flash Gordon, which was announced in the late summer of 2008 and is under development still.
In a recent chat to SciFi Nows Portal the director talked a little more about his plans for the movie, and promised that it will not be anything like the awful Syfy Channel series, which completely lost the plot by moving to far away from the premise of the original comic strips.

Is Worthington Worthy For Flash Gordon?
Written by Ian Cullen on December 30, 2009 – 11:06 am -Despite the really bad television series. It appears that Flash Gordon as a proposed movie project is still very much alive, and being considered for the title role is Australian Actor Sam Worthington.
In recent years Worthington has proved a worthy choice for genre movies such as Terminator Salvation and most recently starred in James Cameron’s Avatar. And he can be seen heading up an all star cast in next years Clash Of The Titans in which he’ll play a more vengeful Perseus. Read more »

Ardden Preview Flash Gordon: Invasion of The Red Sword

Fans of the Flash Gordon Comics from Ardden Publishing are waiting with baited breath for the second mini series, which is the Brendan Deneen penned Invasion Of The Red Sword, which is based on an original Alex Raymond story from the original comic strips of the 1930s.
