Reddick: ‘Fringe’ Wasn’t Working
Written by Wayne Hall on August 26, 2010 – 11:12 am -
When the J.J. Abrams‘ show Fringe debuted on Fox, the program received a lot of criticism that it was too formulaic–in other words, it followed the same pattern each week.
Apparently, that didn’t fit what Abrams originally wanted to do with the show, according to star Lance Reddick.
According to digitalspy, Reddick told SciFi Now that the drama’s old format was “a mistake.”
“The show changed gears and that was very deliberate,” he said. “Because, honestly, the procedural element of it wasn’t working.”
Reddick said that he was not a fan of the previous procedural way of doing things, calling it “clunky.”

‘Fringe’ Writers ‘Delinquents,’ Says Jackson
Written by Wayne Hall on August 17, 2010 – 10:04 am -
You know your show is doing well when the stars feel free to kid the writers. That’s what happened recently when Fringe star Joshua Jackson was asked about the more gruesome sequences on the show by Sky TV, according to digitalspy.com.
“I’m pretty convinced that most of the writers on my show are delinquents,” he joked, “because if they’re thinking of these things without the influence of alcohol or drugs, they’re really in a dark place in their lives and they need some serious help.”
