Disney To Pay $4 Billion For Marvel Entertainment

Walt Disney Co. agreed to pay around $4 billion in cash and stock to acquire Marvel Entertainment Inc., adding comic-book characters Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spider-Man to Disney’s lineup of princesses, classic characters, and live-action stars.
Disney Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger said buying Marvel will allow Disney to use the characters in its parks and stores. “We have a great opportunity to grow the Marvel brand,” Iger said in an interview with Bloomberg Television today.
The purchase gives Disney, which operates theme parks and the ABC broadcast network, ownership of more than 5,000 Marvel characters. Films based on Iron Man, Spider-Man and Wolverine have pulled in hundreds of millions at the box office. Read more »

Thor & Hulk To Cameo In Iron Man 2?

Don Cheadle who takes on the duel role of colonel James Rhodes and War Machine in the much publicized Iron Man 2 has recently fueled rumours that Hulk and Thor will make an appearance in the movie.
In a recent interview for MTV the actor joked that Hulk and Thor would appear after the end credits, in much the same way as Nick Fury did in the first movie.
