Amy Madigan’s ‘Dreams’ Of ‘Fringe’ Role Come True
Written by Wayne Hall on July 5, 2010 – 10:20 am -
Now, doesn’t everyone want Olivia Dunham, FBI agent, to find her mother? Or course we do!
So it should come as no surprise that the folks behind Fringe has just announced that they have cast Oscar-nominated actress Amy Madigan (Field Of Dreams, Carnivale) to play Olivia’s mom for at least four episodes during the show’s third season, according to tvright.com.
Never mind that Olivia’s mother is dead! This is genre TV, after all. In fact, when we left Agent Dunham and her friends during the finale last season, she was trapped in the parallel universe and had just attempted to take the identity of her doppelganger. She established that on “the other side,” as it is often called, Olivia’s mother is still alive and well. While the thought of seeing her mother intrigued her, Agent Dunham had bigger things on her mind and their reunion was left to a later date.
