Whedon Almost Quit Television

Buffy, Angel, Firefly and Dollhouse creator Joss Whedon revealed in a recent interview that he damn near quit working for television after the cancellation of Firefly and Dollhouse.

Speaking in an interview for The Sydney Morning Herald, he revealed that the double-axing of Firefly and Dollhouse was a major blow to his confidence.

This weekend’s Comic-Con is virtually like Christmas for comic book, television and movie fans, and over the years has been the source of many breaking news items.

On Thursday, Joss Whedon and J.J. Abrams took no prisoners when updating about their latest projects, and io9 managed to catch up with Whedon shortly after his Q&A, and managed to get him to talk a little about The Avengers, which he will be directing for Marvel Studios.

Rumors About Syfy Bringing Back ‘Firefly’ Continue

You have to give fans of Joss Whedon’s show Firefly and the accompanying movie Serenity credit. They never say die. And their wishes to bring back the series that never should have ended may yet come true, according to nerdles.com.

“Syfy is buzzing with talks on how to bring back the popular series Firefly, which was also turned into a movie called Serenity,” notes a recent report on the site. “An inside source at the Syfy Network has told Nerdles, ‘There is one show that keeps getting buzz around here and it is Firefly. This series always comes up in discussions about new shows or how to revamp the schedule. Options on whether it will be a continuation of the series or another movie that takes over from the end of Serenity has been discussed.”
