Just yesterday we reported that Elizabeth Mitchell would be returning for the sixth and final season of the hit ABC series Lost. However it appears that Michell’s character of Juliet may have had a little more of a hand in the sixth season than many of us first believed.
In a recent interview for Entertainment Weekly writers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof claimed that it was Juliet that, “birthed season six.”

Mitchell Confirmed For ‘Lost’ Season Six
Written by Ian Cullen on November 3, 2009 – 9:51 am -
The last time we saw Elizabeth Mitchell as Juliet in ABC’s hit series Lost. She’d just fallen down a pit and was near death, and being helped on her way by a nuclear explosion.
Which begs the question, will Juliet return?
“I can’t [say], because they’ve decided to do a complete blackout,” Elizabeth Mitchell, who played the character, told SciFi Wire last week from the set of ‘V’. “They’re doing no press, and they’re giving no hints and no spoilers, and they’re showing no promos. So I really can’t say anything.”

Emerson And Chenoweth Take Home Emmys
Written by Wayne Hall on September 21, 2009 – 9:01 am -Michael Emerson, known as Benjmain Linus on Lost, and Kristin Chenoweth, who played Olive Snook on Pushing Daisies, were the winners from sci-fi genre programs during the 61st Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 13.
“I feel like I’m living out a character actor’s dream,” Emerson, 55, said as he received the first trophy of the evening, the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. “One day, I flew to Hawaii to do a guest spot, and four years later it’s become the role of my lifetime.”
The third nomination turned out to be the charm for Emerson, who also won an Emmy in 2001 for his role of William Hinks, a serial murderer on The Practice, also on ABC. According to critics, Emerson has been a pivotal character on “Lost” ever since he first appeared in 2006 as the quirky leader pretending to be an average guy caught in a bizarre hot air balloon accident. Is he hero or villain? Perhaps we’ll know when “Lost” airs its final episode.
“Lost” remains one of the most-recognized sci-fi shows in recent years, having won at least 51 awards out of 193 nominations, including nine Emmys, one Golden Globe and three Television Critics Association Awards.
