Fry Interested In Writing Doctor Who

Stephen Fry, who is somewhat of a British treasure, has recently expressed his interested in writing an episode of Doctor Who.

Fry, a renowned actor, writer and comedian, is no stranger to genre productions and most recently lent his distinctive voice to Fable 2 and LittleBigPlanet. Fry has also made appearances in genre movies such as V For Vendetta and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. And let’s not forget his contributions to television in the iconic British Comedy Blackadder and his recurring role in the popular U.S.-made series Bones.

Doctor Who Voted Best Drama At UK National TV Awards

David Tennant swaps his Tardis for a London Bus

For the last 5 years Doctor Who has scooped up a ton of awards, and has once again proved its worth at the UK National Television Awards.

The BBC reports
that Doctor Who scooped the best drama award for a fifth year running. The series, which was produced by Russell T. Davies and starred David Tennant beat out stiff competition from popular uk shows such as: The Bill, Casualty and Shameless.

Americanized Torchwood In The Works

It seems that Primeval and Being Human are not the only UK genre shows to be getting an Americanized version.

Fox television, who are more well known for canceling genre shows than they are for commissioning them has revealed that they have got plans to develop an American version of the hit Doctor Who spin off series Torchwood. Which is to be produced with assistance from BBC Worldwide. Read more »
