‘The Amazing Captain Nemo’ To Get DVD Release
Written by Ian Cullen on February 5, 2010 – 11:17 am -Warner Archive have been releases a fair few science fiction and fantasy titles on DVD of late, and their latest release is a personal favourite of mine due to the fact that it takes me back to one of the many family holidays we had when I was a kid.
The film of course is The Amazing Captain Nemo, which was an amusing and fun take on what would happen if Captain Nemo were to pop up in the present day. Only in this case. The present day is the 1970’s, and was initially titled The Return Of Captain Nemo.
The movie, which is light weight Sci-Fi fare was a pilot for a short lived television series, but that doesn’t make it any less fun.
The title role was played by the late José Ferrer and had the late great Burgess Meredith as his modern day counterpart Prof. Waldo Cunningham.
