Fallen Heroes is a dark urban fantasy that is a throwback to the pulp adventure stories of old but deals with the themes of betrayal, redemption, hope and sacrifice in a modern and contemporary setting.

First time British Writer Barry Nugent has come a long way in a short time. Nugent who is one half of the massively popular Geek Syndicate Podcast self published a novel last year titled Fallen Heroes, which is a story that takes much of it’s inspiration from the classic pulp novels of the 30′s and 40′s.

Perhaps one of the best reads I’ve indulged in of late is the book from first time published author Barry Nugent. The book weaves a complex plot, which involves a computer disk that everyone wants, and a group of unlikely characters who are all connected and share the same mission to uncover the mystery behind the disk and save the world from destruction via a 900 plus year old supernatural enemy.
