The popular animated kids show ‘Adventure Time,’ which has spawned a shed load of merchandising and comics in recent years is to advance from television to movies.
The project is being worked on by Warner Bros, and will be produced by Chris McKay and Roy Lee, reports Deadline.
The Cartoon Network show follows the story of 12-year-old Finn and his dog Jake, who go on a quest to protect the Land of Ooo.
During their many adventures they have come across such menacing villains as the Ice King, who is determined to marry Princess Bubblegum.
The series has had over 180 episodes since it started in 2010.
The sixth season of the animated series is presently airing on Cartoon Network.
McKay and Lee will also both work on The Lego Batman Movie, with McKay set to direct and Lee to produce.
