News broke recently that Amber Heard is in talks for a role in ‘Aquaman’.
If talks are successful the actress will appear alongside Jason Momoa as the movies female lead.
According to Hollywood Reporter her character will make its first appearance in the ‘Justice League’ movie, which will introduce a number of new characters from the DC Universe.
Heard will play Mera, the love interest of ‘Aquaman’ and eventual queen of Atlantis. First appearing in 1963, the character’s powers include the ability to control and even solidify water.
James Wan is attached to direct Aquaman, which is undergoing a dual-track development, meaning there are two separate scripts that are being worked on concurrently.
Wan’s go to writer David Leslie Johnson is working on one of the films script’s while the other is being penned by
Kurt Johnstad, who wrote 300 with Zack Snyder, who is directing ‘Justice League’, producing ‘Aquaman’ and is one of the architects of the DC movieverse.
Justice League is set to begin shooting in April and is slated for a Nov. 17, 2017, release date. Aquaman is due to hit shore eight months later on July 27, 2018.
