The Hollywood Reporter reports that the CW’s search for their iteration of the iconic DC villain is over. Matt Nable (Riddick) will make his own mark in the role Liam Neeson brought to the big screen. Nable will first appear in the third season’s fourth episode, entitled “The Magician,” which is also Arrow’s milestone 50th episode.
Furthermore, The Hollywood Reporter describes Ra’s al Ghul as “The leader of the League of Assassins and father of Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), Ra’s is proud and unforgiving. A ruthless strategist, a master of martial arts and a shaper of history, Ra’s carries the wisdom of the ages and protects some of its greatest secrets.” I’m personally hoping that “wisdom of the ages” translates to near immortality and the introduction of the lazarus pit. If we can have meta-humans in the TV version of the DCU, I don’t see why we can’t have the lazarus pit as well.
Immortal or not, we’ll see some father-daughter bonding. Nyssa “will absolutely play into the season and we have a really cool arc planned,” Guggenheim hinted. “The first time we see Ra’s [in the third season] is a scene between him and Nyssa.”
