SCI FI PULSE editor Tye Bourdony saw the 7:00 p.m. Thursday night showing of the much anticipated Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, and this Zack Snyder film starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg and Amy Adams gets Tye’s personal grade of A!
Dawn of Justice is a wonderful and continuing tale of some of our favorite and beloved core DC Super Heroes; Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, as they come together in the beginning of what will in short time become The Justice League.
The film is more like a tapestry of carefully woven visual scenes in a grand graphic novel much more than it is a simple popcorn movie. An older, seasoned and somewhat jaded Bruce Wayne is hell bent on preventing the further loss of humanity at the perceived threat he believes Superman to be as only the justice of the Dark Knight can.
With Superman likewise jumping through a mastermind’s hoops, sinister plots and political schemes, ultimately culminating in three Heroes unwittingly becoming thrown together to stop the very thing the world sought to prevent in the first place; DOOMSDAY!
The action was a beautifully choreographed dance of intense Comic-like elegance both visually and dramatically, while Wonder Woman was bathed in a beautiful shroud of mystery as she was wonderfully introduced into the Cinematic DC Comic Universe.
The film ultimately ends with our Heroes banding together to save our world just in time to find other Heroes needed to face tomorrow’s threats, even if it is at the cost of a Heroes’ Greatest Sacrifice.
Any fan can find many things to love about this movie and in the end it is a wonderfully created and welcome addition to what is just the beginning of the greater DC Cinematic Universe. With the Wonder Woman movie right around the corner and The Justice League soon thereafter, we are all in store for many more cinematic feats of good old fashioned Comic Book glory.
