This September, creators Dan Abnett (Guardians of the Galaxy) and I.N.J. Culbard (The King in Yellow) are teaming up once more with BOOM! Studios, this time drawing influence from Invasion of the Body Snatchers in the paranoia-fueled follow-up series to the anthropomorphic mashup of Wind in the Willows and War of the Worlds, with, ‘Wild’s End: The Enemy Within.’
BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon had this to say about the series, “I think Dan and Ian surprised a lot of readers last year with the first Wild’s End series” before going on to say, “They created these wonderful characters that we connected with so quickly, and they ended the story on such a frightening note we had to know what happened next! I can’t recommend this series enough. Pick up the first trade and jump on board The Enemy Within as soon as possible!”
As Clive, Susan, Fawkes, and the other survivors of the alien invasion of Lower Crowchurch do their best to cope with what just happened to their small town, the military arrives in an attempt to cover up the “incident.”
The town’s residents are immediately detained, questioned, and treated with suspicion as if they were either alien spies, collaborators or sympathizers? Clive and the rest will need to escape imprisonment if they’re to get the word out and warn the rest of the world before the aliens return.
Wild’s End: The Enemy Within #1 (of 6) arrives in comic shops on September 23rd with a main cover by series artist I.N.J. Culbard, with a cover price of $3.99. Also available in a limited quality is a Jackpot incentive cover by Jake Wyatt (Ms. Marvel), a 10 Years incentive cover by Rob Guillory (Chew), and a retailer incentive cover by Jeff Lemire (Hawkeye, Descender).
Readers can also pick up the trade paperback for Abnett & Culbard’s Wild’s End: First Light on September 30th for $19.99.
