With the long-awaited “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie hitting theaters this month, comic book fans everywhere have cause to rejoice (as long as it’s better than “Man of Steel”). If you’re getting pumped for the movie, throw a “Batman v Superman” party, complete with cocktails inspired by your favorite superheroes. We just hope the drinks will be celebratory rather than to drown your sorrows after a bad movie.

We’ve rounded out a list of some of the most creative and inspired drinks to serve at your superhero soiree. Cheers to a good movie!

Batman-Inspired Drinks

Whether you prefer to play the superhero or the villain, this list of Batman-inspired cocktails is sure to please your palate with a vengeance.

The Bruce Wayne

It’s only fitting to start with a drink for Batman’s namesake. The Bruce Wayne is a delicious combination of bourbon, coffee and maple syrup. Dark and mysteriously appealing, just like the Dark Knight himself. Simply shake the following over ice until it foams:

  • 4 1/2 ounces of iced coffee
  • 2 ounces of bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce of maple syrup

Then, strain the mixture into a glass worthy of Batman.

The Joker

In honor of Batman’s arch nemesis, The Joker is a colorful and quirky cocktail that will make you grin from ear to ear. This drink requires whipping up some Jolly Rancher vodka and letting it sit for a while. To do this:

  • Place 10 unwrapped candies into a bottle or jar.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups of vodka of choice, then shake and set overnight or until all the Jolly Ranchers dissolve completely.
  • Mix 3 ounces of the vodka and 1/4 ounce of lime juice in a glass with ice.
  • Fill with seltzer.

The Mr. Freeze

If you’re chillin’ like a villain, the Mr. Freeze is right up your alley. Just be warned that this drink takes a bit of prep work. The day before you plan on serving this drink:

  • Fill an ice cube holder with pineapple juice and freeze it.
  • Crush Jolly Rancher candies and dip a moistened glass rim into the mixture. Place the glass in the freezer to chill.
  • Place your pineapple juice cubes, 1½ ounces of rum (we recommend Captain Morgan’s Pineapple Rum) and 1 1/2 ounces of blue curaçao in a blender and pour.

Superman-Inspired drinks

Looking for a drink worthy of Superman? The below list of cocktails will have you soaring on cloud nine.

Superman’s Weakness

For those craving the vice of Superman — or just a drink named after it — here’s how to make some Kryptonite. Mix three parts melon liqueur with two parts lemon-lime soda and one part white rum. Add ice, stir and pour.

Death to Superman

This two-part, drink-shot combo is sure to make you feel like going head-to-head with a superhero. In a shot glass, pour one part red sourpuss and one part blue curacao. Then, mix 1/2 ounce of green creme de menthe and an energy drink of choice (we recommend Red Bull) in a tall glass. Drop the shot in and enjoy.

Since we feel slightly guilty for including a drink called Death to Superman (hopefully we don’t still feel that way after the movie), here is one named after the superhero. Add ice to a glass, followed by equal parts triple sec, peach schnapps and coconut rum. Then, fill the rest of the glass with pineapple juice and top it off with grenadine.

Now that you have your drink list, you can party like a superhero. Cape optional.
