The following interview contains spoilers for ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron.’
According to Lou Ferrigno, Marvel has asked him to be the voice of the Hulk for a standalone Hulk movie. In a recent Sci-Fi Pulse interview, Ferrigno talked about ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ the next Hulk movie, and other projects he will be working on.
“Originally, Marvel asked me to play the voice of Hulk in Avengers 2, but there were no plans for a Hulk movie,” Ferrigno said. “Then they saw the story for Age of Ultron. The Hulk plays a much bigger role in this movie than in the first one. He’s the big hero of the movie, and they realized they couldn’t end the movie and not have another Hulk movie.”
Ferrigno, the tall, muscular actor who made his name playing the Incredible Hulk in the 1977 – 1982 TV series, spread the word that Marvel plans to make another Hulk movie in early May. His assertion was largely ignored until the current Hulk personification, Mark Ruffalo, also started talking about a Hulk movie.
While he has not yet seen the script for Age of Ultron, Ferrigno is signed to voice the Hulk once initial filming has been completed, and has been approached to do the same for the Hulk movie, though he says there is no script for that one, yet. “Marvel is just in the talking stage right now,” he explained. “There is no script, yet, but they are going to make the movie.”
Ferrigno is in a number of shows this year, including ‘Star Trek Continues,’ ‘Adventure Time,’ ‘Mom’s Night Out’ (where he plays the Hulk), and in the upcoming ‘Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power.’ “I have a big role in the movie, which was a lot of fun to work on.”
When Ferrigno is not acting or entertaining fans at comic cons, he is busy working on FerrignoFit, a website dedicated to health and body building.
