Synopsis: The team goes in search of Gravitonium in order to save the world.
Review: The team is racing against time to seal the rift and have to find some Gravitonium to aid them in sealing it on a more permanent basis. Daisy learns of a man that could help them find some of the former Hydra Scientist that worked with Grabitonium. The hope is that one of these scientists will lead them to it.
Elsewhere General Hale is plotting her next move in her mission to capture the remaining Shield agents. She enlists the help of Ruby the superpowered young woman that injured Yo-Yo by slicing her arms. But could Ruby be plotting against the General?
Back at Shield. The team catches up with the man that Daisy located and he turns out to be an old friend of Mack’s who was known as Candyman. The Candyman agrees to help Shield and takes them to one of the Hydra scientists that he helped relocate. The scientist tells Mac the Gravitonium they need went down in a boat at sea and is about 5 miles deep under the water. But when Mack returns to the base with this information. Fitz struggles to find where the ship is at, but the answer comes when Deke does a bit of out of the box thinking.
Overall. This was another solid episode. I’ve enjoyed the whole relationship that has been forming between Deke and Fitz and Simmon’s. It’s fun watching Deke slowly figure out that the two Shield scientists are his parents. Jake Busey puts in a nice guest performance as Tony Caine aka Candyman and the onscreen chemistry between Busey and Henry Simmons was pretty nice to watch. It is hinted that Candyman could return. Hopefully, we get to see this play out because it’s a fairly cool character that is established in a very short amount of time, which can only be a testament to Busey’s acting paired with some pretty solid writing.
It’s going to be interesting to see how many of the plot points explored this year are going to be resolved.
