Synopsis: Stuck in the Vanishing Point, the Paragons search for a way to escape; Oliver reveals that he has become something else; the origin stories for The Monitor and Anti-Monitor are revealed.
Review: The story continues as the stage is set for an epic conclusion as the baton is passed to those crazy legends.
The Story
Stuck in the Vanishing Point, the Paragons have all but given up hope until Flash arrives back out of nowhere after having unsuccessfully attempted to get into the speed force. At this point, Oliver Queen in his new role as Spector makes an appearance and gives Barry the boost he needs in order to take all of the Paragons into the speed force with him. Apparently the speed force is key to winning the battle against the Anti Monitor. As they all enter the Speed Force. Supergirl, Lex, The Flash, Batwoman and everyone is all scattered. It is down to Flash to find everyone by using his connection and memories of everyone to bring all the Paragons together.
The Acting
We get some solid acting in this episode, but it is really a star turn by Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen that carries the more dramatic beats. The scenes between Amell and Grant Gustin as Spector and The Flash are some of the most touching scenes I have ever seen in a superhero based series. We also get a fun turn from Ezra Miller as the movie version of The Flash meets the television version. Seeing both versions of The Flash comment on their suits and so forth was loads of fun. And did make the episode a little more special.
Overall
This penultimate episode of ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ is emotionally charged for sure and it also has a great deal of action as well. The scenes where all the Paragons come together in order to hold the line to allow Oliver space and time to take on The Anti Monitor is fantastic. And the final moments between Barry, Sara, and Oliver are really bittersweet as a dying Ollie tells his friends to carry on being the heroes that they are.
With the universe seemingly being rebirthed. It is no up to The Legends to do their bit.
