Synopsis: When Prometheus ups his killing spree, Oliver searches for connections between the victims. Felicity and Curtis discover the victims have a link to Oliver’s past and this new secret could upend his new team.
Review: A less soapy episode this week as the team has a few run ins with Prometheus ending in one that brings them back together again.
While investigating the various murders Felicity figures out that Prometheus is using the kill list of corrupt city officials that Oliver started his journey with back at the very beginning of the series. The revelation and the fact that Oliver is keeping secrets from his new team threatens to upend things, but thankfully all is well at the end when Ollie in his guise as Green Arrow makes a last minute rescue of Artemis who tries to take on Prometheus on her own, but ultimately damn near gets herself killed.
During the Bratva flashbacks Ollie meets up with crime boss Konstantin Kovar (Dolph Lundgren) for the first time. How this will eventually connect to the bigger picture remains unclear, but Lundgren puts in a pretty solid performance as the villain in his one scene.
Meanwhile at the Mayors office Thea has learned that Quentin Lance is still drinking and tries to straighten him out. This story thread leads onto a somewhat shocking reveal at the close of the episode, which has us asking the question of whether or not Lance is the big bad or just an unwitting pawn via hypnosis or some other means. No matter which. The evidence that he awakes with is pretty damning. Especially given that Ollie and the team have learned that Prometheus has access to Star City Police Department’s Evidence Locker.
In the shows more soapy moment. Felicity tells her cop boyfriend that she works for the Green Arrow and gets a rather surprising response from him.
This was a solid episode which saw growth for the recruits as they question whether or not they should be trusting Ollie given that he has been keeping secrets from them.
