Synopsis: Ryo Ishida tries to bargain Two’s life for the blink drive.
Review: Picking up from last week. Boone from the parallel universe has delivered Two to the court of Ryo Ishida.
Ishida tries to use Two to bargain with Three, Five and Six for the blink drive, but unbeknown to him. A wider conspiracy to take him off the throne is in play.
Ryo tries the old game of divide and conquer by revealing his former cremates secrets to them. His aim to use the fear of these secrets being revealed as leverage.
This is a brilliant episode for Alex Mallari Jr. who gets to pretty much bring forth some added dimensions to his character of Ishida.
Its apparent that Ishida fully believes that his way is the correct way forward and his former friends are just collateral damage. He even tells them that he is prepared to kill them if necessary and you don’t doubt him for a second.
Although this episode is mostly political. There is a fair bit of action.
We get a nice but brief bit of sword play between Ishida and Two near the start of the episode and a pretty epic fight between him and his childhood friend Misaki toward the close of the episode.
Anthony Lemke, Melissa O’Neil, Roger Cross, Jodelle Ferland and Zoie Palmer all put in really strong performances in this episode and by the close of the story. They have a difficult decision to make with regards to the future of the dethroned Emperor Ishida.
But the question we are left asking is just what will happen to the Boone and Porsha from the other universe who are still at large and what sort of mutual deal was Ishida trying to cook up with Ferous Corp before the fall of Zyron?
As with most episodes. We get a line of dialogue, which makes clever use of the episodes title. And this week it is Ishida that gets to reveal one last secret to Two.
I can only hope that we will get to find out.
