Synopsis: When a woman is found dead and in the form of a pentagram on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Lucifer and Chloe are drawn into an investigation involving a cult of Satanist.
Review: Following on from last week. Lucifer has been actively avoiding contact with Chloe and the LAPD due to the fact that being around her makes him vulnerable and undermines his power.
When a girl is found murdered by an apparent satanic cult Chloe winds up having to take it to Lucifer to consult on and literally has to drag him out of his self imposed exile.
Tom Ellis plays up the comedy element by walking at least 5ft behind Chloe and keeping her at arms length throughout most of the first half of the episode, but as with most fun jokes it kind of gets old after the first couple of time.
The crime in this turns out to be set up by Malcolm who is trying to impress Lucifer.
Meanwhile the games between Mazikeen and Amenadiel continue until it no longer registers as fun and Maze tries to kill Amenadiel, which ultimately leads to a confrontation between Amenadiel and Lucifer, which was disappointingly short lived.
The episode ends on a massive cliffhanger in which Lucifer is arrested for a murder, which he did not commit.
So we have a few questions being posed. In the fight between Amendiel and Lucifer we learn that Amendiel has not been using Choe against him, which has us continuing to wonder why Lucifer can be physically hurt when he is around her. At one point in the episodes Lucifer checks Chloe to see if she has had wings at any point because he is so rattled by feeling powerless when he is around her.
Another interesting question is. If Amendiel hasn’t put Chloe in Lucifer’s path in order to make him feel vulnerable. Then who has? Could there be another supernatural angel or demon operating behind the scenes?
Lets hope that some of these questions are answered in next weeks episode.
