Synopsis: When Nancy learns that Tiffany Hudson’s corpse is being moved out of Horseshoe Bay for a private autopsy, she puts her investigation into Lucy Sable’s dress on hold to pull off one of her most risky missions yet.
Review: Nancy Drew continues to impress with a mystery that has a bit of a spooky twist.
Nancy finds herself investigating both the murder of Lucy Sable, but has to prioritize her investigation into the death of Tiffany Hudson. When Ryan Hudson takes out a court injunction to prevent the coroner’s office from doing an autopsy on Tiffany. Nancy enlists the help of her friends to stage a break in to collect a sample of blood from Tiffany’s corpse. Added to all of this Nancy continues to be haunted by Lucy Sable, which has her questioning her sanity.
Kennedy McMann continues to impress as Nancy Drew and has a couple of really strong scenes. One, in particular, sees her suspecting her friend Georgia who has been sleeping with the widowed Ryan Hudson. The chemistry between McMann and Leah Lewis who plays Georgia is really strong in that they give a believable performance of two young women that have a fractious friendship.
I also enjoyed the scenes involving Ace and Bess in which Ace finds out that Bess is attracted to Women and offers to be a friend to her. The part where he offers her his friendship is really sweet.
Another solid episode, which has thrown out a few more questions and seems to be setting up another potential murder in episodes to come if the blood on Georgia’s doorstep is anything to go by.
We still have a few questions such as why was Tiffany contacting Ned via text message before she was murdered and was Nancy’s father involved in the murder of Lucy Sable? Also, what is the ghost of Lucy Sable trying to point Lucy toward? Is lucy’s mysterious death from 20 – years ago in any way connected to the present day? I’m quite looking forward to seeing how the show’s writers manage to answer some of these questions in the weeks to come.
