Synopsis: Star Wars brings us a BATTLE OF THE BOUNTY HUNTERS! Only one man can stop BOBA FETT from executing his long-sought vengeance. But can VALANCE survive the battle of the two greatest bounty hunters of their age? Why did NAKANO LASH betray her team during their doomed mission to CORELLIA? The answer could ignite an all-out crime war across the underworld and change Valance’s life forever.
Picking the story up from the last issue. The two greatest Bounty Hunters from the Star Wars universe meet again. Boba Fett is on a mission to kill Nakano Lash while Valance is there to protect her. Lash is looking after a young child that could grow up to unite the spice syndicates on Correllia, but Bobe Fett doesn’t care. Little do they know that Lash is also been hunted by another person who wants to kill the kid that she is charged to protect.
Paolo Villanelli who is a longtime favorite artist among Star Wars fans delivers some brilliant panels on this issue. The image of Boba Fett who is Star Wars’ most iconic Bounty Hunter being matched blow for blow by Valance is a thrilling visual and Villanelli milks it for all it’s worth. I also loved the panel in which Lash tells Valance to leave her and protect the kid.
Ethan Sacks continues to deliver a brilliant story, which takes advantage of the edgier fringes of the Star Wars universe. This is about as close to The Mandalorian within the comic book universe as you are ever likely to get. If anything it’s slightly edgier.
The fight between Boba Fett and Valance was brilliant drawn and wonderfully scripted. We get a reminder of just how ruthless Boba Fett is and by comparison, Valance has more of honor and a sense of right and wrong. The contrast between the two Bounty Hunters is going to make things interesting should they meet in future issues.
