Synopsis: Trace makes a rash decision after learning what they are transporting is for the Pyke Syndicate.
Ahsoka Tanu is still hanging out with Trace and her older sister Rafa. When Rafa accepts a job to transport some cargo the trio travel to the infamous planet Kessel and finds out that they have unwittingly become spice smugglers for the Pyke Syndicate. When they turn up with no spice due to the fact that it has been taken by Pirates. Ahsoka, Trace, and Rafa try to bluff so they can make a hasty getaway.
Once again Ashley Eckstein delivers the goods as the voice of Ahsoka Tanu and has some nice moments with Brigitte Kali Canales who does superb work voicing Trace. A fun moment is where Trace is flying for the first time and neglects to take the airbrakes off before taking her ship to warp. The interplay between Eckstein and Elizabeth Rodriguez who plays Rafa was loads of fun. Particularly when the two characters are in agreement with regards to their doubts about Trace’s piloting abilities.
This was another great episode for Ahsoka and her newfound friends. The chemistry between the characters is really solid and you kind of find yourself wanting to support Trace irrespectively of her being in over her head. We get a lot of great moments, which include Ahsoka knowing a lot about many things, but not being able to bring herself to divulge quite why she knows so much to the other characters.
Perhaps one of the best moments is when Trace flys into the Republics’ military shipping lanes by mistake and is warned consistently by Ahsoka not to open communications. When she does it triggers a bit of an exchange between Rafa, Trace and the commander of the flagship who is about to cite them when Anakin Skywalker steps in sensing Ahsoka. It’s a very small scene, but full of significance given that Ahsoka was Anakin’s Padwan.
The episode closes on a cliffhanger as Trace’s ship is tractor beamed by a few ships belonging to the Pyke Syndicate.
Overall. A fun episode.
