IN REVIEW: STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS: SEASON 7 – On the Wings of Keeradaks

After their escape, Anakin Skywalker and the clones defend a local village.

Synopsis: After their escape, Anakin Skywalker and the clones defend a local village.

The Story

Having infiltrated the Techno Republic base and found Echo. Anakin, Rex and The Bad Bunch must find a means of escape, which thankfully they have in the form of Echo who has the plans of the entire base in his head, but things get a bit tricky when the team find themselves being pursued by the Techno Republic and wind up breaking their deal with the local villagers of the planet.

The Voice Acting

Matthew Wood does a great job this week as Wat Tambor who gets more and more frustrated by Anakin and his Clone Troopers getting the better of him.  There’s a fun moment where Tambor whacks one of his robot soldiers out of sheer frustration. Dee Bradley Baker continues to provide great value as the voice of pretty much every member of the Bad Bunch and Rex. Though it is the rough and ready voice that he provides for Wrecker that makes me chuckle as do Wrecker’s antics in the episode. Especially the reaction he gives when Anakin Skywalker uses the Force to transport him to the access panel that they use to make their escape.

Overall

This was a fun thrill ride of an episode with a lot of fast-paced action and fun character moments. I loved the sequence where Tech uses his recording device to summon the dragons and the subsequent action beat where they have somewhat of an ariel battle with the Tech Republic Soldiers who also happen to fly.

Also enjoyable was the scenes where Anakin Skywalker takes from one of the Walkers that is sent after them while Wrecker throws three of his compatriots into the air in order for them to take down the other walker.

By the end of the episode the team has achieved their goal, but you can’t help but sense that something is not completely right with Echo.
