Synopsis: While Jedi Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi lead an attack against the Separatist forces on Anaxes, the Bad Batch and Anakin Skywalker infiltrate an enemy starship to ensure a Republic victory.
Having been rescued by Rex and Anakin in last week’s show. Echo looks to pay back the favor by coming up with a plan to take out the Anaxes and admiral Trench. While Obi-Wan and Mace Windu lead the attack. Anakin leads Rex, The Bad Batch, and Echo on a covert mission to use Echo’s newfound skills as a computer tech to hack into Admiral Trench’s computers in order learn his plans and undermine them from the moment his orders are issued.
This week sees us get a few great scenes from Terrence ‘T.C.’ Carson and James Arnold Taylor as Mace Windu and Obi-Wan Kenobi respectively. I loved the scene when Obi-Wan and Mace Windu drop in on a bunch of the separatist troops and Mace makes a bit of a speech bragging about the number of separatists he has taken out while on his many missions in hopes that they’d back down. You know full well the separatist are going to open fire, but its all cheesy fun and delivered with the right level of cheese by Carson.
I also enjoyed the interactions between Echo and the Bad Batch as he slowly earns their trust and finds himself invited to join them. All of these interactions were voiced by Dee Bradley Baker who must have some of the most versatile vocal cords on the planet given that he voices so many of the characters.
This was another great episode, which moves the story a fair bit closer to the events that we saw happen in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. We get a scene where Anakin somewhat mercilessly takes out Admiral Trench toward the close of the episode and the look on his face, while he does the deed, is on a par with the expression he had when he butchered the Jedi Padwans in ‘Revenge of the Sith.
I also enjoyed the bad batch. Specifically, the fun competition between Wrecker and Crosshair to see who could take out the most droids.
Overall. A solid episode with hints of what is to come.
