From Image Comics and the creative team of Mark Miller (writer), Goran Parlov (penciler) and Ive Svorcina (colorist), the sixth issue of Starlight is a great conclusion of a fabulous limited series, which takes a familiar Flash Gordon/Buck Rogers theme and gives it a fun twist.
Imagine if Flash or Buck had been able to come home only to find that no one believed their amazing other worldly tale of swashbuckling adventure in another galaxy. Imagine if even your own family didn’t really believe you and then just as your twilight years seemed to be coming to a close, you got the chance to do it all over again.
Starlight follows the adventure of retired space man Duke McQueen, who saved the Universe Forty years ago and is asked to do it all over again by once again saving the planet Tantalus as it’s hero of days past.
Along with Space-Boy and a fierce rebel resistance, Duke successfully battles the Brotean Regime, saves the day and is returned home as a hero, with his trusty side kick making sure that everyone knows just what Duke did this time around!
This was simply a great and really fun series which I highly recommend with simply terrific pencils by Goran Parlov. I actually wish the book wasn’t ending as I enjoyed it so very much!
