Synopsis: Supergirl helps Winn face his greatest fear. After Alex sets out to find evidence against Lex, Brainy must decide between helping his friend or continuing to secretly work for Lex.
Review: Supergirl returns with the conclusion to the Toyman story, which began a few weeks ago.
While celebrating their victory over Toyman. Supergirl’s celebrations are cut short when she learns that Toyman has somehow managed to upload himself onto the DEO servers. While getting pretty much all of their technology turned against them by Toyman. Supergirl, Alex, Winn, and Brainiac must figure out a way to stop him.
Elsewhere, Lex brokers a deal with one of the executives of Obsidian. Little knowing that she is connected to Leviathan.
We get some fine acting performances in this episode from Jon Cryer who is absolutely killing it as Lex Luther. The scene where Lex orders Brainiac to get rid of Alex by any means is delivered with just the right level of coldness.
I was also impressed by Jeremy Jordan who did a wonderful job of pulling off the double role of Winn and of course the more youthful version of Toyman. The final scene where the original Toyman saves Winns life was particularly well-done thanks to a brilliant supporting performance from Henry Czerny as the original Toyman.
A fairly solid concluding episode, which allowed us a look at what Winn Schott has been up to in his new role in the Legion of superheroes. We get some wonderful action beats. My favorite being the Lex Suits coming to life and attacking the DEO, which is followed by Toyman’s flying monkeys, which has definite shades of Wizard of Oz.
I continue to enjoy the bind that Brainiac has wound up in due to him having to work with Lex. The scene where Alex realizes that Brainiac has accessed her computer and shut down a program she was running was difficult viewing because of what Brainy was unable to share with Alex.
Overall. A fairly solid offering, which finishes on a little bit of a cliffhanger by reintroducing Mxyzptlk.
