Synopsis: Supergirl tries to stop an alien fight club run by Roulette, while Hank gets to know M’Gann.
Review: This episode sees Supergirl having to break up an Alien Fight Club while Hank aka Martian Man Hunter has to try and remedy Ms Martian of her survivors guilt.
Meanwhile Winn goes for a night on the town with Mon-El and things go a little wrong when Mon-El accidentally hurts a few human bystanders.
We have an fantastic performance from Dichen Lachman as Roulette in her first appearance on the series. And a fair bit of social commentary with the debate between Roulette and Supergirl about whether or not aliens can co-exist peacefully among humans.
I also liked Hank’s little talk about how the people of Mars shared a psychic bond that ran so deep that there were no secrets, which left no room for ego or greed. His disappointment was easy to relate to when Ms Martian refused to bond with him. Although the truth about why is revealed at the close of the story.
The difficult relationship between Kara Danvers and Snapper Carr continues. Thus far he is proving to be a far more challenging taskmaster than Cat Grant was for Kara.
All in all this was a fun episode that had some pretty solid character development for Martian Manhunter and indeed Supergirl.
