Synopsis: When Barry and Team Flash find a way to enter The Thinker’s lair, Ralph considers crossing a dangerous line to defeat DeVoe. Meanwhile, Joe is concerned by Harry’s recent behavior.

Review: This week’s Flash finally sees the team getting a little more serious as they concoct a plan to end the threat of The Thinker once and for all, but as always things are not quite as simple as they seem. And the teams own issues with regards to Harry’s addiction to the thinking cap and Dibny disagreeing with Barry and Irises plans to capture The Thinker create enough opportunity for DeVoe to execute his plan, which runs parallel with the plans of team flash.

In order for their plan to work. Team Flash have to find and capture Edwin Gauss who possess the ability to teleport himself to pretty much anywhere he wants to go. His power works in a similar way to how DeVoe’s chair works, which makes him particularly challenging to catch, but team Flash manage to catch him and get him to agree to help them with the mission to capture DeVoe.

Unfortunately for Team Flash DeVoe has once again anticipated pretty much their every move and manages to get everything he wants and in so doing takes possession of Dibny and his elongated man powers, which has the added bonus of preventing the body decay that DeVoe was having with previous meta hosts.

Amid all of this, we have a subplot in which Harry is forced to face the fact that he has become addicted to his thinking cap, which is an interesting twist that we’ll likely see played with more in the coming weeks.

Hartley Sawyer excels in this episode as he shows us a different side to Ralph Dibny, which is a little more serious and thoughtful. The scene in which Dibny tells Barry that he only wants to protect the team from DeVoe and feels the only way to do that is by killing him is well acted.

Overall. This was perhaps the strongest episode of the season to date and has sewn the seeds for some interesting confrontations to come. Team Flash has a very bloody nose and in the jaws of defeat. Just how will they beat The Thinker now given that DeVoe seems to have everything he needs for whatever his end game is.
