Synopsis: Caitlin, Barry, and Cisco learn something new about Caitlin’s father; Iris and Sherloque follow a clue about Cicada.

Review: This episode is very much focused on Caitlin and the long-awaited return of her frosty altar ego.

The Story

Several threads are in play for this episode, but the one that takes I particularly liked was the one centering on Caitlin’s reunion with her father, which in turn allows for another reunion to happen.

The team gets a lead on Cicada thanks to some good teamwork from Cecile and Ralph as they threaten a guy from FEMA in order to get a manifest of all the patients that passed through after the dark matter incident concerning one of The Thinkers satellites.

Elsewhere, Iris, Nora, and Sherloque go in search of the core of the crashed satellite, which has enabled people to create dark matter technology as well as created more meta’s.

The Acting

The praise this week goes to Danielle Panabaker and Kyle Secor who play well off of each other as Caitlin and her father Thomas Snow, who turns pretty nasty.

I also have to mention the amazingly fun chemistry we got to witness from Hartley Sawyer and Danielle Nicolet as Ralph Dibney and Cecile as they investigated and generally provided us with a fun comedy double act.

Overall

This was Caitlin Snows episode in that we get introduced to her father who turns out to be Icicle and we finally get to see Killer Frost return after what seems to have been an incredibly long layoff.

The fight sequence toward the end of the episode where Killer Frost returns to takes on Icicle was really well staged. It was great to see the two speedsters rendered completely powerless to intervene.

Added to all of that. The team now has a way to find Cicada thanks to some solid detective work from Cecile and Ralph.
