John Rhys-Davies Joins MTV’s ‘Shannara’

Rhys-Davies will play the role of King Eventine, Amberle’s (Poppy Drayton) grandfather

Much loved British actor John Rhys-Davies who is known for his roles in ‘Indiana Jones’, ‘Sliders’ and the ‘Lord Of The Rings’ trilogy has snagged himself a role in MTV’s new fantasy series ‘Shannara’.

According to Deadline Rhys-Davies will play the role of King Eventine, Amberle’s  (Poppy Drayton) grandfather, who has ruled the Elvin kingdom of Arborlon for decades flanked by his sons Arion and Ander. Eventine has done questionable things to keep the Four Lands at peace, but when his beloved granddaughter is chosen to fulfill a dangerous destiny, his path is changed as well.

‘Shannara’ is adapted from the popular book series by Terry Brooks and will run for 10 episodes. The show is being produced and written by ‘Smallville’ creators Al Gough and Miles Millar.
