Jonathan Aris, who is perhaps best known for his role of Dr. Anderson in the hit BBC series ‘Sherlock’ has nabbed himself a role in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’, which will be the first of the ‘Star Wars’ spin-off movies that we’ll see in 2016.
The actor will play the role of Senator Jebel in the film.
At present it is unknown whether the Senator is working for the Empire or the Rebel Alliance. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
The movie will follow a band of raiders as they attempt to hijack the Empire’s massive Death Star base.
Felicity Jones is expected to play a rebel raider, while Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed are thought to be starring as Alliance soldiers.
Meanwhile, Forest Whitaker was recently cast in a role that is currently shrouded in secrecy.
A screenplay for the project is currently being rewritten by Chris Weitz, best known for penning ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ and ‘About a Boy.’
‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ will open in cinemas on December 16, 2016.
