Former ‘Doctor Who’ companion Karen Gillan has been doing pretty well for herself in tinsel town since leaving the show.
Not only has been seen in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ as one of the villains. A role she will reprise in the films sequel. But she has now nabbed herself a role in the planned sequel to the hit Robin Williams movie ‘Jumanji’.
Gillan will join an all star cast on the film, which includes Nick Jonas and Jack Black.
The ‘Jumanji’ sequel is being directed by Sex Tape director Jake Kasdan. The Scottish actress rounds out the cast of the film, which is set to begin principal photography in August in Honolulu.
The film will provide a fresh look at the Chris Van Allsburg book about the magical board game that wreaks havoc, as well as monsoons, on unsuspecting players. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner wrote the script for the project, based on a draft by the original writers, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Matt Tolmach and William Teitler are producing the project. Johnson and Kasdan are executive producing, along with Ted Field, Mike Weber, David Householter, Chris Van Allsburg, and Dany Garcia.
Sony is set to release Jumanji on July 28, 2017.
