Live Action ‘X-Men’ TV Series In The Works

"We're hopeful that we'll be able to announce something soon," Dana Walden Said

A live action television spin-off series of ‘The X-Men’ could happen and an announcement could be made very soon.

Rumors started about a live action show earlier in the year about Fox developing a live action television show of some sort.

Yesterday’s TCA Press Tour shed some new light on this when Fox co-chair Dana Walden acknowledged that negotiations with Marvel are ongoing.

“We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to announce something soon,” she hinted, before cautioning: “We’re not close to a deal yet, but it’s something that we’re definitely pursuing.”

All this aside you will not likely see a new ‘X-Men’ television show cross over with other Marvel shows such as ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ and ‘Daredevil.’

“The characters from the X-Men franchise are with Fox on the feature side, so we won’t be including Marvel characters that are at ABC with Disney,” Walden clarified. “This will be the franchise as it exists exclusively with Fox.”

The cult classic X-Men: The Animated Series aired on Fox between 1992 and 1997.
