This past Friday, May 15th, 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road was released in theaters and has earned over $65 Million dollars in its first weekend on screens across the pre-apocalyptic U.S. The reason for this great box office showing is quite simply because Mad Max: Fury Road is nothing short of a beautiful retelling of a classic Sci Fi film that takes the viewer on an adventure never previously encountered in just this way.
Directed by George Miller and co-written by Brendan McCarthy, the film stars Tom Hardy as the literally mad, Mad Max, with the amazing Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa, a wonderfully ‘witnessed‘ performance by Nicholas Hoult as Nux, and Hugh Keays-Byrne as the movie’s main villain, Immortan Joe, along with a tremendous supporting cast.
Mad Max: Fury Road takes a familiar story and reimagines it into beautifully choreographed cold, baron and dry future desert world of brutality, myth and incredible action that few reading this article could possibly hope to survive or live through.
When we meet Max, humanity is in essence broken after greed, war and human mismanagement have brought our planet to its knees, with one woman attempting to find a greener tomorrow, by trying to restore a semblance of order to her dark world with the help of Mad Max.
The following action and adventure simply does not end in a story that is not only riveting, but is also as thrilling and as entertaining as almost any other film of its kind I have ever seen! There is simply no other recent apocalyptic film of its kind that can transplant and immerse a movie goer so effortlessly as Mad Max: Fury Road!
The film is a must see for both lovers of Mel Gibson’s versions of Mad Max as well as for lovers of the apocalyptic movie genre. Fury Road is simply everything a movie goer could hope for and then some, as you will leave the film completely entertained, captivated and in dire need of both water and a sequel!
