A number of weeks back. Things looked rather grim for Marvel Studios planned ‘Inhumans’ movie. The film has seemingly been taken off the release schedule and many assumed it was curtains.
It turns out that Marvel has had to put the ‘Inhumans’ film on hold and ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Ant Man’ are partly to blame for the delay.
Thus far the only ‘Inhumans’ action fans are getting is in the hit series ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D’ and according to Marvel President Kevin Feige. It will likely be that way for a year or so, but he assures fans that the film is still going to happen.
“The only situation right now is that it’s not going to be part of Phase 3, because Phase 3 increased in a very good way since we originally announced it,” Feige told Empire, referring to Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man & the Wasp‘s late addition to Marvel’s slate.
“When and where and how it pops up remains to be seen, but it’s characters we love, it’s a storyline we love, and we just didn’t want to cram it into an already quite full Phase 3.”
‘The Inhumans’ are a race of genetically altered human beings who develop powers when exposed to a substance called the Terrigen Mists.
Marvel is believed to be using the ‘Inhumans’ as a substitute for mutants, the concept for which is controlled by 20th Century Fox under its ‘X-Men’ film rights.
