This week May The Verse Be With You wishes a very happy birthday to Starfleet’s Lieutenant Commander Data. Data was “born” on February 2nd 2238 — permanently reactivated, at least. Brent Spiner endeared the character to many Trek fans, in his tenure on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and subsequent films. He returned to the beloved role in Star Trek: Picard, last year, much to fans’ delight.

A Case of Happy Birthday

Happy birthday, Data,

we’ve a surprise later!

Don’t forget to wear your shocked face,

here’s the time and the place . . .

Data gave a blank glare,

‘Data, dear don’t despair,

the fun’s in the mystery,

you’ll have to wait and see!’

“A Holmes holo-deck case”,

‘Oh, just look at his face!

Moriarty can’t cause trouble,

he’s still in his bubble!’

“I could never have guessed,

my day has been the best!

Elementary, dear Geordi,

happy birthday to me!’

Those readers who are fans of TNG will no doubt notice the episode references, and how we’ve applied them. SciFiPulse has tons of love for Data, one of the best characters to ever come out of Trek. Brent Spiner also recorded the really fun Ol’ Yellow Eyes is Back — he’s a skilled singer and musician, too. He was accompanied by many TNG show stars! Stay safe dear readers. See you next all week!
